Course Information for 2010-2011
Enrollment has begun for the 2010-2011 class session. Beginning in September, the LKC class meets once a month and concludes with a graduation dinner in May. The tuition is $599 per person and includes books, handouts, lunches provided by supporting organizations, some transportation, a retreat and a graduation dinner. Many businesses and organizations will send a new class member each year. However, the program is open to any Knox County resident. Other sponsors provide scholarships. VU employees receive a tuition discount as with other University courses.
The registration deadline is June 30, 2010. Class size is limited and applications are reviewed by the screening committee.

Leadership Knox County will enable our community to prosper and grow through the increased effectiveness of current and future leaders. LKC will help businesses continue to succeed empowering citizens with better communication skills, community visioning and knowledge of community resources and leaders. LKC will improve quality of life by helping individuals discover their own leadership and learning styles, and project a more confident and positive image.
What are some of the topics to be discussed?
Classes meet one day per month for nine months beginning in September. Registration is $599 per person which includes tuition, resource materials, refreshment breaks, lunch, a retreat, and a graduation dinner. Leadership Knox County participation is limited, thus early registration is encouraged. Registration can be paid by the individual or employer. Individuals are encouraged to pay at least a portion of the fee. Scholarships may be available.
Who will take the lead?
Leadership Knox County is designed for current and prospective civic-minded citizens representing the communities within Knox County. They are individuals who already possess the enthusiasm and dedication so important to our county's development. However, if Knox County is to meet the challenge of the future, its leaders must also possess 21st Century leadership knowledge and skills in order to be flexible and adapt to a constantly changing society.
